چکیده

Averaged auditory evoked vertex responses were obtained from eight normal-hearing sub~cts in response to 32 monaural 1000-Hz tone bursts at 30 combinations of recovery period and stimulus intensity. From curves describing N1-P2 peak-to-peak amplitudes, an equation was derived that describes the combined effects of recovery period and stimulus intensity on evoked response ampfitude. The results show evoked response amplitude to be a dual function of both recovery period and stimulus intensity. At a given stimulus intensity, evoked response amplitude increases as a logarithmic function of recovery period. At a given recovery period, evoked response amplitude increases as a power f~nction of stimulus intensity. The combined effects of recovery period and stimulus intensity produce equal ratio changes in the slope of the recovery function with equal ratio changes in stimulus intensity.

State-dependent changes in cortical gain control as measured by auditory evoked responses to varying intensity stimuli.

STUDY OBJECTIVES Auditory evoked potential (AEP) components correspond to sequential activation of brain structures within the auditory pathway and reveal neural activity during sensory processing. To investigate state-dependent modulation of stimulus intensity response profiles within different brain structures, we assessed AEP components across both stimulus intensity and state. DESIGN We i...

Objective Peak-Detection in Complex Auditory Brainstem Response to /ba/, /da/, /ga/: A Novel Technique

Objectives: The result of auditory brainstem response is used worldwide for detecting hearing impairments or hearing aids. This study aimed to introduce the superiority of mathematical innovation algorithm toward subjective evaluation by an audiologist. The automatic algorithm method is encouraged for detecting the waves of Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR), because it can reduce subjective eva...

Reliability of Motor Evoked Potentials Induced by Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation: The Effects of Initial Motor Evoked Potentials Removal

Introduction: Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is a useful tool for assessment of corticospinal excitability (CSE) changes in both healthy individuals and patients with brain disorders. The usefulness of TMS-elicited motor evoked potentials (MEPs) for the assessment of CSE in a clinical context depends on their intra-and inter-session reliability. This study aimed to evaluate if removal ...

A study of brainstem auditory evoked responses in normal human subjects and normal variations as a function of stimulus and subject characteristics

Background: Brainstem auditory evoked responses (BAERs) are electrophysiological investigations have widespread clinical utility in neurology, audiology, neonatology and anesthesiology. BAER responses exhibit a normal variability due to various non-pathologic factors and age is one of the variables suggested to have considerable influence on normal BAE responses. Aging changes in the auditory s...

یافته‌های پاسخ برانگیخته پایدار شنوایی در بزرگسالان مبتلا به نوروپاتی/ناهمزمانی شنوایی

Background & Aim: Auditory steady state response(ASSR) is an auditory evoked response that has received a lot of attention nowadays. At present, ASSR is mostly used to estimate pure-tone thresholds. Clinical evidence of ASSR in combination with findings for auditory middle latency response (AMLR) and 40 Hz response support the assumption that based on stimulus modulation rate, the ASSR anat...
